
Q. What is the difference between 10, 14 & 18 karat gold?
A. The difference between the different types of gold is in the purity of the gold. The karat weight of gold is measured by a gold’s purity, with 24 karat gold being pure gold.
22 karat gold would have a purity of 22/24 or 91.7 percent
18 karat gold would have a purity of 18/24 or 75 percent
14 karat gold would have a purity of 14/24 or 58.3 percent
10 karat gold would have a purity of 10/24 or 41.6 percent.
Q. What does .925 mean?
A. Silver in its purest form is soft and delicate. The silver found in fine jewelry is combined with another metal alloy, such as copper, to increase its strength. Sterling silver or .925 indicates that the metal is at least 92.5% pure silver.
Q. What is vermeil?
A. Vermeil is .925 sterling silver jewelry layered with gold.
Q. What is the difference between gold-plated and gold-filled?
A. Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold that has been applied to any base metal item by means of an electroplating (or dipping) process.
Gold-filled refers to stock material which is made by combining a layer of gold to a layer of base metal. The thickness of the gold layer will determine the percentage of gold by weight. It may be 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% gold.

A. No. Dion relies on its network of professional distributors. We will be happy to guide you to a distributor that will best fit your needs.
Q. Where is your jewelry made?
A. Dion’s jewelry is manufactured in our home office facility in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Dion’s sourcing group (Dion Global) supplies imported products for projects as needed.
Q. Do you provide customized artwork?
A. Yes. We understand each organization is unique and we cater to the individual needs of each client. To assist you in developing your program, our design team will create photo-realistic illustrations of your ideas, and add some of our own, in order to help you visualize the final product.
