Recognition and Reward & Incentive, at the highest level, have three primary categories – Management Driven, Peer to Peer and Team Based. All of an organization's motivational and reinforcement efforts fall into one of these categories. Each category requires a targeted award selection, process design, administrative approach and measurement capability.

Management Driven
Formal Approach to Recognition and Reward & Incentive
Specific rules set by management that identify who can participate and in what roles.
Peer to Peer
Employees recognizing and rewarding other employees
Vehicles, whether informal or formal and structured by the organization, are readily available to all employees
Team Based
Recognition and Reward controlled by the team
What is given and how it is given is established by the team
No cost or low cost, quickly governed by the team.
